April 23, 2010, India RTS intercom systems have helped make the Indian Premier League (IPL) a sporting phenomenon that has captured the imagination of cricket fans worldwide. The systems are used for telecasting “Extra Innings,” a wrap-around program from the league’s official television broadcaster MultiScreen Media (formerly SetMax).
To tackle the league’s complex broadcasting challenges, including changing venues and, communications parameters, the studio crew required a quick, convenient and modular intercom system. The Cronus DSP matrix from RTS was the perfect fit for this dynamic, multi-site application. “The modularity of Cronus, i.e. capability to be used in standalone mode as well as cascaded mode, was great selling feature for us,” says Mr. Abraham Isaac, product manager for Telex & RTS intercoms, India. “This feature will help us immensely to expand our market share in the rental business. The studio engineers were very satisfied with the Cronus’s performance and found it very user friendly and flexible. Also they were impressed with the features of the AZedit configuration software, with which they were able to make quick and frequent changes to communication parameters.”
M/s. Real Impact, a recognized name in the integration & broadcast leasing arena has incorporated seven Cronus DSP matrices and one Zeus matrix for the IPL. RTS keypanels ranging from the industry-first KP 32 CLD color display keypanel to KP-32 Classic, KP-12 Classic, MKP-12 and MKP-4 keypanels have also been used extensively. In addition, dozens of TIF2000A telephone interfaces connect the matrix frames over phone lines for added flexibility.
“Flawless and flexible communication is what we achieved from the RTS Intercom Systems,” says Mr. Rajiv Sabharwal of M/s Real Impact. World-renowned intercom systems from RTS are used at many prestigious locations and events, addressing the demanding requirements of customers with flexibility, reliability and ease of use.
