This election year, several major US broadcast networks entrusted RTS to deliver communication to their production teams in realtime across the entire country during the convention. One major news network used RTS to establish a remote connection from Washington DC to St. Paul via RVON-8 VoIP interface for ADAM to RVON-I/O Analog VoIP interface. This method allowed them to connect KP-32 Classic keypanel users in Washington to on-site crew members in St. Paul as seamlessly as if they were there.

Another major broadcaster connected ADAM frames equipped with the new AIO-16 16-Channel Analog I/O Card Kit to KP-32 Classic and BKP-4 keypanels via fiber.

Installed directly into the ADAM matrix intercom system, the AIO-16 card gives 16 ports of audio IN and OUT plus individual data drivers for each port installed in the system. This doubles the amount of audio ports available from its predecessor the AIO-8. In addition, the AIO-16 supports connections up 2.2mi (3.5km) per port. The AIO-16 is hot swappable, allowing the user to insert the card and begin using it instantaneously. The AIO-16 eliminates the need to manually set keypanel addresses by enabling automated unique addressing, which greatly reduces the setup time. Once inserted into the system, it uses its "smart card" capability to see the back card configuration and switches its keypanel communication protocol accordingly.

This broadcaster also seamlessly interfaced RTS Two-Wire components that were provided by a production rental company.

Intercom rental is often a popular option for broadcasters when covering a remote event. Prepackaged systems with flexible choices are provided by local rental houses that are familiar with the nuances of the location, and are ready to interface with any system because they’ve seen it all before. RTS system-to-system adapters make it simple to connect two-wire systems such as RTS-TW or Telex Audiocom with digital matrices equipped with RVON VoIP technology.

Another broadcaster rented production trucks equipped with ADAM matrix frames, RVON VoIP and RTS SSA interfaces, as well as KP-32 Classic and KP-12 Classic keypanels.

RTS and its parent organization, Bosch Communications Systems, are headquartered in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. This juxtaposition enabled RTS to provide an unmatched level of service to its broadcast clients during the convention. RTS Technical Support was on-site to oversee the broadcast intercom networks being connected.

When nearly 40 million people watched the final night of the convention, RTS was right there ensuring that every message was delivered right on cue.
