  • RTS celebrates world premiere of OMNEO External Interface-2 at IBC 2014
  • Focus of RTS booth laid on OMNEO-compatible products and trunking
  • Amptown System Company, INC System Integrations and TRU-FI Electronics honored with “Distributor of the Year” awards and “Technical Support Excellence Award”

Amsterdam/Straubing - A record show attendance, massive interest in the latest OMNEO products – the annual International Broadcasting Convention (IBC), which ran this year from September 12th to 16th, once again lived up to expectations of RTS. A major reason: This year’s IBC featured the world premiere of the latest RTS OMNEO product, the OMNEO External Interface-2 (OEI-2). “The interest in IP-based products and technologies such as OMNEO is increasing rapidly. Last year, we already presented the OMI and OKI interface cards, with OEI-2 we are now taking the next step”, reports Kamil Swobodzinski, Vice President Sales EMEA.

With the new OMNEO external interface OEI-2, RTS users can maintain existing infrastructure and the equity of their original equipment investment while updating to high-performance OMNEO media networking architecture. OMNEO simplifies the transportation of audio signals as well as system control for professional networking applications and allows the assembling into networks of 2 to 10,000 cooperating devices that share common control systems. “The feedback from customers and the press alike was extremely positive,” reports Josef Penker, Sales Director CCS (Critical Communication Systems). “It seems that with the OEI-2, we have our fingers firmly on the pulse of time.”

“At the IBC 2014, we also emphasized our trunking solutions”, comments Josef Penker. “Trunking is a highly sophisticated subject which is currently receiving a lot of attention as customers want to connect systems and locations across continents.” With support engineers Debbie Jackson and Geoff Rogers, the RTS support team gave IBC presentations how this complex matter can be put into practice in the most efficient and simplest way with products like the RTS TM-10K Trunkmaster. Josef Penker: “During our special RTS trunking presentations, Debbie and Geoff outlined both the advantages of trunking in general and had a look at RTS trunking even in demanding solutions.”

In the context of the IBC, RTS also honored three of its distributors. In 2014, the coveted “Distributor of the Year” awards went to two RTS partners: Amptown System Company GmbH (Germany) and INC System Integrations JLT (UAE). Additionally, TRU-FI Electronics S.A. (PTY) Ltd. from South Africa received the “Technical Support Excellence Award” from Josef Penker, Debbie Jackson and Geoff Rogers. “In fact, all our partners would have deserved an award for their exceptional commitment this year”, stated Penker, who handed over the awards together with Nico Lewis, Senior Sales Manager and Sanjay Kumar, Sales Manager for the Middle East and Africa. “Representative for all, we would like to recognize exemplary commitment of these three companies and warmly congratulate them.”
