Stratus Heli-XT

Active noise reduction headset for helicopter pilots

Noise Reduction

The Stratus Heli-XT provides passive noise reduction of greater than 29dB and active noise reduction (ANR) of up to 16dB.

Comfort and Fit

Dented slide adjustment on the headband allows the ear cup to be easily raised or lowered for proper fit. Yoke design allows the ear cup to pivot in two planes assuring proper seal to the head and distributing ear cushion pressure evenly over its entire surface. Ear cup pressure is adjustable thanks to patented ComfortCam™ technology. 1" thick ear cushions made from heat sensitive slow recovery foam conform to the wearer's head to provide a perfect seal and eliminate pressure points.

Microphone

The amplified electret noise-cancelling microphone prevents unwanted cabin noise from entering the communication system. The boom rotates up to allow use on either side of the head. Retaining hooks are designed into the microphone housing to securely hold the windscreen in place.

Cordage and Plugs

All cables are shielded to protect against RFI. Strain relief is added to all cord entry points to provide protection from tugging resulting from normal usage. Bend relief is added at high-flex cord entry points to protect cords from breakage. Cables are provided for interfacing with cell phones and audio devices. A cigarette lighter adapter is included to power the headset off of aircraft power and for recharging. An AC wall adapter is also provided.

Auto Shut-Off

The headset will shut off automatically after 15 minutes in low-noise environments. When Auto Shut-Off is enabled, the headset is kept active by communication over the aircraft intercom system, cell phone conversations, listening to music, and cabin noise greater than 90dB.

Battery/User Interface Module

The module puts the most commonly used controls at the pilot's fingertips. There is a jack for cell phone communication and an auxiliary input jack for use with portable audio devices. The power on/off button turns all functions to and from the headset on and off except for intercom system functions. The accessory mute button quickly and completely disables the cell phone and auxiliary audio devices while maintaining intercom communication. The LED indicates power on/off and low battery. The CD input jack can be used to draw power from the aircraft and to recharge the batteries.
